Disappointment and a Gift

5AM on Friday found me excitedly preparing to head to the airport for a long awaited for beach weekend with girl friends. My plans quickly changed though after noticing a few pregnancy related concerns and a quick call to my midwife. I cancelled my flight, brought my suitcase back into the house, called my friends, and then spent a nervous morning at the doctor's office with a hunny who was 1,300 miles away. After some testing, I was sent home with reassurance that it looked like everything was ok, orders to put my feet up for the weekend, and a follow up appointment on Monday.

Two precious co-workers (friends) brought me lunch and kept me company. Later in the afternoon, my mother in law flew in to spoil me until Josh got home. #ifeltsoloved

Throughout the weekend, I had many calls and texts from my own dear mama (who is coming this Friday) as well as family members and friends. The Lord brought loved ones around me for support and encouragement in such sweet ways. He is so good.

I was so very disappointed to miss out on a weekend with my old friends who bring such laughter and joy to my heart. It was scary to not know what was going on and be afraid that our baby girl might want to come a little too early. But the Lord certainly used this time to remind me that He is in control, sovereign over all, and to shower His love on Josh, baby girl, and I through His people. Monday's appointment confirmed that all was well and we are so very thankful.

Plus, we got a super sweet gift out of the whole ordeal...a 4D sonogram! #sheisthecutest #imightbebiased
