To celebrate Halloween, we hosted a staff party at our apartment. We all got dinner on campus and brought it home to eat while we watched a scary movie.
I made some delicious and easy hot apple cider that stayed warm and toasty in a pot on the stove. It made the whole apartment smell like fall for the evening. I also made a few tasty treats to add that hint of specialness for the kids. They are a great staff, they work really hard and they are such a sweet and fun group of students. They definitely make Josh's job much easier and we are very thankful for them!
Before everyone left, we tried to get a group picture. The following shots demonstrate the difficulty I had getting eight college students to smile nicely for the camera:)
I think that between these three photos, there is a good shot of everyone.
First try:
Second try, almost perfect, except for Travis's unfortunately timed yawn.
Success, finally! Hooray!!
The staff also celebrated the holiday by hosting a Halloween Trick or Treat Party for the whole building. They decorated the lobby and everyone dressed up. The girls went to the boy's halls to trick or treat and vise versa. They all came to our apartment as well for a little open house. It was fun to get to know our students better!
We felt like the momma and papa of the building, handing out candy to all our kiddos. Love it!
Samara really was responsible for spearheading the details of the event and she did a great job. I LOVED her costume, she was fabulous!!
Here are some of the favorites of the night including zombie doctors, a werewolf, tinkerbell, a mermaid, and the marlboro man. So fun!
Hope you had a wonderful, fun, tasty, and very Happy Halloween too!
