We recently ventured forth with the lofty goal of taking a Christmas Picture for this year's Christmas card. My sweet friend Ruthie agreed to snap some photos of us by a red door on my beloved Frankfort Ave.
I thought it would be cute to each be wearing a little red too. Josh's shirt, Shiner's scarf, my Toms. Easy peasy right? We can get this done in no time...
Except when you add an oversized chocolate lab to the equation who cannot manage to sit still for even an instant. Dog? Squirrel? Train? Person? Trash can? Were just a few of the many distractions.
Shiner, can you lay down please?
No, Dad, I really just can't. I am going to sit here, cute as a button in my scarf, looking away from the camera and there is nothing you can do about it.
We finally got her to lay down, but then, alas, she thought it was belly rubbing time. Up went that hind leg putting her delicates on full display for all to see. Not exactly Christmas Card appropriate.
Josh pushed that leg right back down and told her to be a lady. I just laughed.
What a pretty pup, chalk full of chocolatey cuteness!
After about 15 minutes of photos, Shiner let us know she had enough. She laid her head down on my leg and said she was tired, done. No more pictures, please!
Thankfully, Ruthie had managed to take some really fun shots of our little family that will be perfect for our 2011 Christmas Card, coming soon to a mailbox near you!! :)

I love Shiner in her red scarf! What fun she makes for you & Josh! Amelia has the same red toms :)
