P90-Ouch

We enjoyed a low key celebration of Josh's 28th birthday with some good food and a few gifts. Josh has been on a health kick lately...remember the pull up bar? He had also been wanting P90x for quite awhile to add to his exercise regime. Sooo....

Happy P90x Birthday to my handsome hunny! I also picked up a few recommended books on heart healthiness and  ways to improve our nutrition at home. I'm so thankful I married a guy who would actually be excited about these things!!

So a  few days week later we got started. We put our brains together and created an exercise plan to balance some P90x with our training for the Papa Johns 10 miler at the end of March. We are going to start slow and easy with the P90x to prevent injury...and death.

I had high hopes of using the light 5 pound weights during the first video, but quickly abandoned such craziness about 2 minutes in.

During the cool down afterwards Shiner made her thoughts clear.

"Stop this insanity!!"

Putting all her might (and body weight) into the effort. Whatever it takes.

Victory!

Next time I hope she focuses on me, I promise I will succumb much more easily.

We spent the rest of the week sore but energized, feeling muscles we haven't felt in quite some time (or in my case, ever). We are looking forward to a healthy and happy 2012 and 28th year of life!
