We have been enjoying the start of fall here at Casa de Brack. Louisville really shines this time of year as the dog days of summer melt into cool breezes and changing colors.
We celebrated the end of summer with long walks and watermelon sorbet.

Shiner was sure to get in some alone time under the bed. Maybe the heat got to her...or maybe she is just a weirdo.
Cooler evenings were the perfect opportunity to enjoy a few dinner dates, usually on a Thursday, at local cafes and dives with outdoor seating. Let me tell ya, Louisville does its food right. Cafe Aroma, Taco Punk, and Four Pegs are some of our recent haunts.
Anytime our Thursday night dinner ventures take us near Market Street, a stop at Ghyslain is a must. Their mint chocolate gelato has fresh mint leaves stirred in. That's right. Fresh mint leaves. Yum.
A scenic stroll is the perfect finish to an evening of dinner and gelato.
The advent of Josh's new job has inspired us to get a little more settled here in Louisville. We had a fall cleaning weekend that required making quite a mess before tidying things up. Yipes!
We also celebrated Josh's new job by purchasing a new-to-us car. It has a roomy rear seat for Shiner and is quite the upgrade from Old Blue. Meet our new addition, the pathfinder. It finds paths.
One of my favorite things about the fall has been afternoon runs in the cooler weather amidst the changing colors. I especially love it when my hunny comes along:)
The perfect running weather helped me to prepare for my first solo 1/4 marathon (6.55 miles). I have done a full marathon, lots of halves, 10K's, and more, but all of them have been with the support of a running buddy. I have always loved running with friends, but there is something very satisfying and empowering about taking the challenge of a race on my own terms. I even made a PR!
It has been a full and eventful couple of months. We have learned a lot through the job hunt, grown personally and professionally, and are very very thankful for the Lord's many provisions for our little family!
