Oh the checkout ladies...

At just about 6 months pregnant, I am getting bigger by the day.

Every checkout lady at every store, has a comment about the size of my belly. They usually start by asking how much longer I have to go. When they hear early October, they say something lovely and super encouraging along the lines of "Giiiirl, its gonna be a loooong hot summer!"

Or, "Wow, you look like you've been pregnant for awhile and you still have that long to go?"

Or, "Just you wait until August!" and then they give me a patronizingly sympathetic look.

And of course the classic, "Are you sure there is just one in there?" (Yep, people actually say this to pregnant mamas...idiots).

Then, there is this one precious lady at church who makes everything right with the world. Whenever I see her, she exclaims, "Amanda! Look how beautiful you are!! You look so wonderful!!!"

Her words are so sincere and sweet. Even if we only see her from across the street, she will shout a encouraging word. Now I look for her every Sunday, just to get a happy boost.

Lesson learned, whenever I see a pregnant lady for the rest of my life, I will take a page out of Lois's book. I will be intentional to share words of excitement, joy, and encouragement!!
