The Keeper of Knowledge

This was my introduction to students by the Freshman Geography teacher...love it! I have also been called The Book Keeper, The Book Lady, Hey miss, Ma'am (ahh!!), You there teacher lady (no joke), and many more titles that I cannot recall at this moment.

Upon seeing my cell phone on my desk an exuberant girl, followed by a HUGE gaggle of iphone wielding chicas, said, "Hey miss, give us your number so we can text you!"
Thoughts of midnight texts flooding my cell phone about which (of three) color of knee socks to wear tomorrow, the new iPhone app that jingles when a Gap store is within a five mile radius of you, upper class boys, twilight, gossip girl, chase crawford, abercrombie, the deliciousness of a certain youngish male government teacher, the new candy bar diet, twitter updates, facebook updates, myspace updates, texting lingo that I dont even understand, and on and on raced through my head as I gaped at them in mute horror.
My panicked response came out in a try to sound nice yet also like I mean it voice which ended up just being high pitched and squeaky, "Uhhh, Wellllll, nooo, I dont think so!!!"
Unspeakable relief enveloped my soul as they "Aw, miiiiisss'd" and gaggled on to new unsuspecting victims.

Daily after chapel, Sophomore Sam comes into the library to check out his hairdo in the library glass doors. He primps and preens his flat iron fried hair which sticks up this way and that, like Christian from Project Runway.  I have found him getting his hair flat ironed by various ladies in hallways or even the girl's bathroom. These blossoming hair stylists carry their flat irons in their backpacks ready to whip out at even the hint of a wayward curl.

Thats all for now!
