This past weekend, my mom was able to come for a visit. Hooray!!
She arrived Friday afternoon to a rainy gray Louisville.
We were not to be deterred.
Off we went to Bardstown Rd. to give mom a taste of Louisville life and culture. We got some orange spice tea at Heine Brother's Coffee. I admit we giggled a little at the name of this wildly popular Louisville establishment. Everyone is cool as a cucumber when sing the praises of this shop.
We wandered through the funky shops full of antiques, vintage clothing, and vast arrays of unusual oddities. For example, last Sunday, Bardstown Rd. hosted a zombie walk.
People dressed up like zombies
and walked.
We definitely had to stop at Why Louisville which is full of Louisville paraphernalia, t-shirts, mugs, baby onsies, posters, etc. They have other things too, like a mug that says "reading is sexy." I might need it.
I snapped these shots in front of the store to document our day.
Here is my mom, as a bearded lady...what a great sport:)
And here is my Josh. Love it!
We had a fun afternoon which was just the start of a wonderful wonderful weekend. I am so glad that my sweet mom flew up here to visit our new nest! Thanks mom! Love you!
Thank you both for hosting me for the weekend and giving the grand tour of Louisville!! I loved seeing your nest, going to church with you and meeting the new folks God has placed in your lives both at church and at school. The cooler temperatures, apple butter, apple cider, ugly lamp restaurant, and winery tour were all unforgettable!!
