At 8PM tonight Josh and I will get on a plane bound for San Antonio (well, via Chicago). We are headed to SA for many reasons, but the biggest is to share in the celebration of my dad's 24 years of military service. Three cheers for retirement! Say goodbye to the life of the nomads and say hello to a new (much less transient) life in our beloved Northwestern Homeland!
Look how handsome!!
I have always been so very proud of my wonderful papa, even when I was just a little bitty girlie.
Here he is today, just as dashing as ever!
What a privilege to have a father who so faithfully exemplifies patriotism, honor, and service to our country. He is the dearest dad anyone could ever be so lucky to have. His invaluable wisdom and encouragement has lifted my spirit through life's biggest challenges. While he was serving in Iraq, bringing healing to American and Iraqi soldiers, civilians, children, and even insurgents, he was a rock of courage that sustained my mama and I throughout his absence.
Daddy, I love you more than words could ever say. You are one of God's biggest blessings to me!

What a wonderful tribute to your father. Thank you Jonathon for serving our country. What a blessing you are to all that know you.
ReplyDeleteThanks Amanda for sharing this with us all.
He is my hero!
