These days...

A couple of weeks ago we had the chance to visit the zoo with our adopted Louisville family, the Rutherfords. Way and Amy always make sure we have a place to share holiday meals and their friendship and hospitality have been such an encouragement to us. We love them. Look how adorable their sweet boys are, Davis and Miles are the cutest ever.

Our Fourth of July weekend was four days of rest, relaxation and lazy bliss. We went for walks with Shiner, ran a few errands, slept in, watched movies, cooked a Shrimp and Grits recipe we had torn out of a Southwest Airlines in-flight magazine, and spent the Fourth with, you guessed it, the Rutherfords.

I have found a little time for sewing and my projects bring such joy and a sense of accomplishment to my heart. My inspiration is always my dear friend Mary Love and her adorable blog and Etsy shop. She sent a bunch of helpful little notions and patterns to help me create a few fun gifts for Paul and Mandi's baby shower. She is the best:)

In other news, we became Costco members, bought a blue truck, and are addicted to The Cooking Channel now that we have cable.

Life is pretty good these days and for that we are abundantly thankful.
