Last Thursday night Josh and I wandered over to our local Whole Foods Market to try out their weekly summer patio party. For $5.99 you get a plate full of food and a choice of fresh lemonade or tea. It was amazing, the perfect mid week date night! Roasted lamb, potatoes with garlic aioli, summer squash, and a $1 blue moon? Can that possibly be beat?
I don't think so.
On Friday night, Josh and I babysat for a sweet family in our church who have four boys, two of which are seven month old twins. Clayton, Levi, Bennett, and Judah are the dearest little guys and we had a fun and silly evening playing with trains, puzzles, and a rousing game of Candyland.
To top off the fun, their mama Katie made us a delicious dinner of couscous with chicken, feta, tomatoes, and basil. We also got lots of laundry done which saved us from the dreaded coin laundry at our apartment. AND...if that all weren't enough awesomeness, we came home with a grill.
Yes, that's right. A grill. Praise the good Lord above.
Oh the grill, Josh has been wanting one our whole marriage and never before has it been possible due to rules and regulations about having a grill on the same planet as a college dorm building. We are still basking in the joys of living OFF campus.
Saturday evening we invited our friend Brandon over for grilled chicken, couscous (it was so wonderful we had to immediately re-create it for ourselves), and watermelon. Does it get any more summery than that?
My hunny was oozing with grilling happiness and joy.
I meant to get a picture of our yummy dinner but it was all gobbled up before I ever had a chance. We topped it off with a walk at the park, bluebell cookies and cream ice cream, and a movie. Heaven.
