iPhone Escapades

So, I got a new (to me/my dad's old) iPhone...

and, I love it.

There, I said it. The truth is out there for all to see.

Despite many months, perhaps a year or two, of scoffing at technology and saying things like,

"Oh, I don't need that."

"I am an old fashioned girl."

"I prefer a more romanticized, paper oriented, existence...I could never use an iPhone to keep my schedule or make a list."

Technology has won the day.

The convenience and ease of the iPhone has infected my system and I have the iPhone fever. I can take pictures, play scramble, check my email, play scramble, monitor the weather, make a list, play scramble, keep track of my schedule, and play scramble all through this small sleek little phone.

In a word, awesome.

I even want to start buying it things. Like a This American Life App.

Oh wait, I already did that.

I want to buy it other things too, like food and clothing. A car charger and a pink decorative cover to keep it warm and protect it might be just the ticket.

Even the fact that my iPhone has a mind of it's own hasn't deterred my devotion. A couple of weeks ago, I was driving down the highway, singing to the radio...

loudly (of course)...

and my iPhone, while in my purse and unbeknown to me, decided to call my mom and give her a listen.

I had no idea til she called to laugh at me.

Can we say embarrassing? Thank goodness it was my mother and not some person I don't know very well and would be even more mortified to leave a loud out of tune car singing message on their phone.

Oh wait, I already did that too.

Well, not a singing message thankfully. But I have looked at my phone a few times only to realize that it is calling or has called a fairly random person from my contact list.

Any normal rational person might dislike this tendency enough to get rid of a phone, but not me. Oh no, I am hooked, addicted. No amount of personal humiliation will cause me to look on my iphone with disdain.

It is a type A personality's dream. It keeps me organized, on time, and ready for anything.

Plus, everyone knows it is super cool and I can't argue with cool.

Clearly, I need to make sure that this iPhone fever doesn't get out of hand.

Oh wait, I think it already has....

  1. hahaha, join the club. don't worry, the charm of it all does wear off eventually. but then you will fall in love all over again when you are in the store with your screaming kid and you whip out the iPhone, press play on their favorite episode of Baby Einstien, hand the kid your phone, and they calm right down. people will judge you, but not as harshly as they would if you kid was screaming ;)
