The last adventure we had during my mom's visit was at Churchill Downs, the famous home of the Kentucky Derby. Louisvillians live and breath derby, even the calender year seems organized around derby month. Yes, that's right. Derby MONTH. City wide events fill up the entirety of May, from parades to marathons, we have it all.
Our apartment on campus is just a hop, skip, and jump from this historic horse race haven so naturally we had to take mom to see what all the fuss was about.
We were not disappointed.
We took a small tour....
Then we wandered through the museum and found the dress up room....

Then things got even more awesome....we found the starting gate.
Josh had to run back and get dressed again to get a 'realistic' shot...
Needless to say, we had a fun and very funny time!!! Can't wait for May!
