A Weekend Away

Last weekend, Josh and I flew to San Antonio to attend our dear friend Bekah's wedding and visit family and friends. I think we both breathed a huge sigh of relief when we stepped off the plane, finally back on Texas soil.

It was good to be home.

We spent our time eating Mexican food, fellowshipping with friends, and resting with family. We hugged our sweet Shiner girl and didn't let go. We spent Saturday morning at a brunch with Bekah and her Lewis along with several other out of towners, all old friends, who came back together for the wedding. What a sweet sweet time. Friendly faces are food for the soul.

The addition of breakfast tacos sure didn't hurt either.

We had lunch and ritas at Tomatillo's with the Eggars' clan and laughed and laughed at Owen's antics. Ahh, it was so good for our weary hearts to spend time with friends and catch up.

Saturday afternoon was spent with the folks and Callie, chillaxin' on the couch, hugging Shiner, and watching the game.

Perfection.

Sunday morning, we went to church at Redeemer and basked in the glory of familiar and comfortable surroundings. We chatted with more friends, saw new babies, and enjoyed our old church home.

We had lunch and ritas at Paloma Blanca with the friends and family.

Enough said.

Sunday afternoon we hugged Shiner and relaxed before wedding preparations. We headed to the Parker Chapel at Trinity University, the place of our own wedding ceremony, and sat waiting for the ceremony to start with growing anticipation.

When Bekah walked down that familiar aisle, Josh and I both teared up, feeling the emotion of their day, remembering the joy of our day. What a pleasure and honor to watch Bekah and Lewis join their lives together.

We drove to the reception with more friends and spent the whole time catching up with everyone. We also finally took a few pictures.

This was the best attempt from my mom and I. I would show the rest of this series, but I am afraid of repercussions....:) It was so good to see my parents. I love them!

Can't you just tell how happy we are, how much we are enjoying our break from work and school? Oh yes, it was simply divine!

Josh helped me get a snapshot with the beautiful bride. She is stunning!!! When I saw her gliding down the aisle, I was completely overwhelmed.

All I could think of was a random slew of overly emotional and incomplete strains of thought while I held on tight to my own beloved's hand.

She's SO beautiful!
Aw, We got married here too, what a special day!
Oh, they are so happy
Oh Lewis is SO happy, just look at his face!
I love weddings!
I love my wonderful Josh!!!
I love marriage!
I am so happy for them!!
She is SO beautiful!!!

Several of Josh's old staff members and even his co-worker, Cally and her husband, were at the wedding, so of course, we had to get a Trinity shot.

We stayed til the very end, enjoying every second. We all sent off the lovely bride and groom with a raucous chorus of kazoos.

What a happy and wonderful weekend! We are so excited for the NEXT wedding weekend coming up at the end of the month!
