We arrived right on time, finally starting to wake up. While we were waiting in line we/everyone noticed four girls behind us who were headed to "LA, OMG!!"
These ladies were decked out, I mean full makeup, sky high stilettos, barely there clothing, jam packed Louis Vuitton bags, etc. They looked like they just popped out of MTV's Jersey Shore, which I must say is quite an accomplishment at 4AM.
They were truly a spectacle, which, I think, is exactly what they wanted.
We got to our gate and watched them struggling to theirs, apparently platform Manolos and airports are not a great combo. Upon their arrival at their own gate, a serious discussion ensued with their gate attendants.
I can't know what the problem was, but all eyes within a four gate radius were on them, especially the rapt attention of every male who, I am sure, was either trying to figure out how those girls got their small selves into those microscopic skinny jeans.
OR maybe those poor confused (visually assaulted) gents were trying to discover why those very girls thought oversized sunglasses were necessary, at four thirty in the morning, when it was pitch dark outside.
Again, a spectacle.
The problem was soon solved and with a squeal the girls were off again, sunglasses in place, hair extensions perfectly coiffed, limping along and lugging their oversized bags back towards the center of the airport.
Now, where could they be off too, their plane minutes from boarding?
About thirty minutes later, the plane to "LA OMG!!" was on the verge of taking off. The gate attendants had been calling four girls names a hundred times over the intercom for the past twenty minutes in an increasingly annoyed tone. The plane door was seconds from being closed.
Suddenly, right in the nick of time, all four girls came galloping down the terminal, extensions
The purpose of their delay was evident in their hands. Those girls almost missed their flight for...
Starbucks, of course.
We made our plane too, with much less drama and attention, and had a wonderful flight to Seattle where we arrived a bit bleary eyed at 10:30AM Seattle time. We had a full day ahead of and despite our sleepiness, we were excited and ready for the fun to begin:)
I love this story!! So funny!
