kentucky taco

Early Wednesday morning found us in the kitchen making tacos for Josh's staff.

Several staff members had never before tasted the delights of a bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast taco. They were a bit dubious. One even asked for jelly to put on it, their request was soundly refused. In the end, the lack of leftovers proved the staff's unanimous approval.

The reason for this early bird special was move in day at UofL.

Freshman through Seniors (along with their parents, minivans, loads of stuff, and I even saw a couple pets) were on their way from far and wide to move in to their dorm rooms.

We, along with Josh's eight staff members, live in Threlkeld Hall, the honors dorm. Josh and his team had been preparing for this day for over two weeks.

It finally came.

It was a day of flurry, sweat, tears (parents), and shouts of joy (students).

Then, just as quickly as the day came, it went. We have had two more days of move in since and it seems that most of our Threlkeld clan are settled in and ready for school to start on Monday.

There is much more hustle and bustle around the halls these days, people coming and going, events to attend, sand volleyball games happening outside, and lots of kids to get to know.  I know there will be times when we long for more privacy and quiet than these living quarters can provide, but overall, I am really looking forward to our life here. It is a fun, energetic, and happy living space with friends and students to love on.

I know it will be a fun and eventful year!
