Having a home and office about thirty steps away from eachother can be taxing.
Josh's office is approximately four steps out our front door and I have been working at the campus bookstore this month.
I can see the bookstore from our living room window.
After a month of move in, two weeks of rush at the bookstore (they do 75 percent of their annual business during the first two weeks of school), Josh and I were tired.
And very stir crazy.
We needed to get out, not only off campus, but out of Louisville.
So we chose to leave the state.
Boy was it a good feeling to watch that state sign fade in our rear view mirror!
We went to Huber's Orchard in Indiana which had been recommended to us by several locals.
We had always been interested in going, but never so much as after we discovered from an inside source, that Huber's is actually TWO orchards. One is Huber's Orchard and Winery and the other, is about a mile away, Joe Huber's Family Farm and Restaurant.
Our source told us that the farms are owned by warring brothers who madly compete for business each year. How exciting! On the drive, their battle was evident in the sneaky signs trying to vie for orchard goer's attention.
We stopped for lunch at Joe Huber's infamous restaurant and had some darn good fried chicken. Mmm!
Then we headed over to Huber's Orchard and Winery, we wandered through the farmer's market, eyeing the delicious pies, fresh produce, and jars of apple butter. Also, Josh drove a tractor.
Then we headed over to the winery for a wine tasting and cellar tour.
It was a lovely day in the country, away from the grind. We returned home refreshed and ready for the week ahead!

too funny that the farms are owned by dueling brothers! loved how you nonchalantly threw in that josh rode a tractor :)
